SAINT AMBROSE EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION CENTER (ECEC)

FULL DAY PROGRAM ADMISSIONS POLICY

The Saint Ambrose Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) will enroll children in the full-day program based on the following guidelines:

  1. Siblings of children currently enrolled in the full-day program of the Early Childhood Education Center with priority given to Saint Ambrose parishioners based on their date of registration in the parish.
  2. Saint Ambrose parishioners based on the date of membership in the parish and also the date registration forms are received by the Early Childhood Education Center. If a family joins the parish after their ECEC application date, their date of registration in the parish will be used.
  3. All other families who are not members of Saint Ambrose of Woodbury parish, based on the date their application is received by the Early Childhood Education Center.
  4. As part of our parish mission of outreach to the broader community, twenty percent of the full-day spots may be filled with low-income families who qualify for MFIP childcare subsidy.

FULL DAY PROGRAM WAITING LIST POLICY

When a class is full, a waiting list will be developed based on the following guidelines:

  1. Siblings of children currently enrolled in the full day program of the Early Childhood Education Center with priority based on:
    1. Family date of registration in Saint Ambrose of Woodbury parish
    2. Call date for non-parish families
  2. Saint Ambrose of Woodbury parishioners based on the date their application is received by the Early Childhood Education Center. If a family joins the parish after their ECEC application date, their date of registration in the parish will be used.*
  3. All other families who are not members of Saint Ambrose of Woodbury parish, based on the date their application is received by the Early Childhood Education Center.*
  4. Low-income families who qualify for MFIP childcare subsidy may have priority not to exceed 20% of our total full-day enrollment.

*All names on the parish list will be contacted before spaces are offered to families on the non-parish list.

HALF-DAY PROGRAM ADMISSIONS POLICY

The Saint Ambrose Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) wiill enroll children in the half-day program based on the following guidelines:

CURRENT STUDENT REGISTRATION AND CLASS PLACEMENT

  1. Students currently enrolled in the Saint Ambrose half-day program will be able to register in December for the upcoming school year.  At this time current families will also be able to register siblings into the half-day program.
  2. Class placement will be determined as follows:
      1. Siblings of children currently enrolled in the half-day program, based on membership date in the parish, or date of application.
      2. Saint Ambrose parish members based on the family’s date of registration in the parish.
      3. Families who previously had a child enrolled in the ECEC Program, based on the family's parish membership date, or date of application.
      4. Non-parish members based on the date enrollment form is received.

NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION AND CLASS PLACEMENT

New family registration for the next school year into the Saint Ambrose half-day program of the Early Childhood Education Center will be held in January. Admissions and class placement will be determined as follows:

  1. All new families will have a one-week window in which to register for the half-day program. Applications will be processed at the end of the one-week registration period with available class spaces being filled using the following criteria:
    1. Saint Ambrose of Woodbury parish members based on their date of registration in the parish.
    2. Families who previously had a child enrolled in the ECEC Program, based on the family's parish membership date, or date of application.
    3. Non-parish members based on the date enrollment form is received.
  2. New families registering after the one-week window will fill spaces on a first come, first served basis.

HALF DAY PROGRAM WAITING LIST POLICY

If a half-day class is full a waiting list will be developed based on the following guidelines:

  1. Families who turned in an application during the one-week registration period but for whom a space is unavailable will have priority as follows:
    1. Parish members based on their date of registration in the parish
    2. Families who previously had a child enrolled in the ECEC Program.
    3. Non-parish members on a first come, first served basis
  2. Parish members who enroll after the one-week registration period based on date their application is received by the Early Childhood Education Center.*
